they are releasing a 7xxx series gpu in a week or so if its not already out but I don't think its much of a contender id wait as it is in the low end gpus

5000s (Evergreen) were released late 2009 6000s (Northern islands) were release late 2010 7000s (Southern islands) therefore are expected in Q3 or Q4 2011. They have already been previewed at a few events.

They're amd cards now, not ati... Just letting people know, some probably missed that from the company. Amd bought ati and finally merged.

AMD have owned ATI Technologies since 2006, they have just stopped using the ATI Name. By 2006 ATI were a well-founded company with a large fanbase, they kept the name until now for marketing reasons.

well im considering a new gpu setup for round $800 so is it worth the wait? or just get tri 6950 2gb/ 580 3gb
