i currently have a phenom 2 945 and im looking to get a cooler for it. the problem is that when i go on newegg or whatever i have no idea what im looking for because there are so many different types. so it would be great just to get some info on whats good or suggestions ect..

Depending on the size of your case, either one of these will work well:
XIGMATEK HDT-S963 XIGMATEK Dark Knight I have built two AMD 955 systems using these two coolers and they both run extremely quiet and offer excellent cooling. |

Just to voice some support, the HDT-S963 should be a good choice, just to help compare, I run an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185125 ) on my Phenom II 940 and it does a great job, but the Xigmatek is slightly cheaper, so that'd be my choice here.
