Lagging playing diablo 3

Here are my computer specs

1 x GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

12 gb ram

geforce gtx 560 ti - video card

amd phenom 2 black edition multi core processor

1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue WD3200AAJS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

im not really good with computers and still get lag when playing diablo 3 while playing on low graphics

can anyone tell my why i still get lag?

Most likely the CPU is bottlenecking your new vidcard. You might consider overclocking the CPU to help with the lag, or consider a CPU upgrade, if an upgraded CPU will work on you mobo/chipset. Else, you'll need to upgrade your CPU and mobo.

The phenom 2 is a good processor how can it be making a game run bad I got the phenom 2 955 quad 3.2ghz. Phenom 2's have level 3 cache which helps with rendering video and ease graphic out puts. And a phenom 2 was the best CPU for AMD until the fx/bulldozer got released early last year.

And my phenom on a am3 mobo along with a 6970 will run anything on ultra or a mix of high and ultra with all AA set to high on 1080p I have played so far.

What I could suggest is updating the mobo bios as AMD and intel didn't support each other till am3+. Back in the day when I had an Athlon x 2 with a 8800gtx it lagged on pretty much every thing but then I switched to ati gpu with the same benchmark rating never lagged again.
