a good place to start would be overclock.net
my name on there is the same (cquinndesign) if you want to pm me I can help you out. if you have stock cooling, then just stop right there, you need at least some type of aftermarket cooling. Zalman and ThermalTake make good CPU Fans, I would say the best, but thats my opinion.

i wasn't trying to advertise another forum!
i was merely advising him of a website that does nothing but discuss overclocking. i am in no way affiliated with that website. i know that when i overclocked my pc the first time i did it with wrong information. it took me weeks to find a site dedicated only to overclocking with very knowledgeable staff. overclocking is not a "universal" feature, meaning that every single computer is different and that's the first thing he will learn. i could have the SAME EXACT hardware he has and still get different results! i apologize if you think i was trying to promote another forum, i really thought i was helping.

It's alright. It really came off as you were trying to advertise it because that's the first thing you said. True, every processor overclocks the same, but they all follow the same concept and that's all he needs to know. He'll learn to adjust his overclock as he works with it.
