Help Overclocking...

Hi, well I have a Dell Vostro 420 it has an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66ghz, the mainboard has a model number of 0N185P, Chipset - Intel P45/P43.
I'm fairly new to overclocking and since i have a alright heatsink i've been thinking i should give it ago.

So bare with me, Overclock Etc. isn't really my strong point, i just need a point in the right direction

Well, i was just wondering how to get to the clock multiplier in my BIOS for the CPU. Do some BIOS' have a lock or something because i cant find it anywhere...

you're not going to be able to change the multiplier unless you have an extreme edition. also, your bios probably does not have any settings to change frequency or vcore. however, there is hope for you if you're willing to take the cpu out and cut some tape up with an xacto knife... check out this link from XS... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132900&highlight=bsel+mod
