hi
i have got a Acer Aspire 5532 laptop with a AMD Athlon 64x2 tk-42 processor clocked at 1.6Ghz and its a good little thing but needs to be a bit faster and less laggy how can i overclock it safely and easily to 1.8 or maybe 2.00Ghz? if so would it be permanent so i can still use the same clock speed on Linux? any help would be appreciated

Overclocking a laptop in any way -> bad idea.
(talking from experience) Cooling in lappies is mediocre at best.
