Default Wireless/USB connectivity problem

Just been round to my friends house to set up his wireless network, he has bought a DWL-G122 USBwirless adapter to talk to his DSL 604 router. Now hard wired connectivity from the router to PC works fine i.e internet, local network etc...

Problem being is that when we try the wireless set-up and we have ensured that everything is setup correctly such as SSID's are the same and the WEP keys are the same, but it will not conect at all. Whe you configure the software of the DWL-G122 to ad-hoc instead of infastructure the link light does come permenantly on, but when set it to infastructure the light goes out. When set on infastructure the activity light does roam for a nework, so it is looking for a valid network, but no joy! We have disabled windows firewalls and the installed 3rd party firewall, but still no joy.

Thought I had cured wireless problems but they just keep popping up!

Can anyone advise if had same problem and sorted it out?

Well, I know this is pretty simple, but just to be sure.... Is the DSL router wireless?
