Wireless internet help

OK I have to compaq sr5130nx. And one (I Will Call Compaq 1) has the connection to the wireless router (ParkerVision WR1500) and DSL modem. The other (I will Call Compaq 2)has a LINKSYS WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter. OK Well Compaq 2 connects to the router and has local and internet access...But after a while it will lose the internet access or the internet becomes unbearably slow! and Ideas...Also when I look at the wireless connection properties it says "IPv6: Local" or "Limited"...instead of saying internet...I have no Idea if that has anything to do with it. But please help...thanks.

have you tried, leaving you modem and router(if you have one) unplugged, and then plugging them back in after a good two minutes


and try and just hook up one computer directly to the modem, and see if it drops out like you said, if you call you provider and talk to one of their techs if they have any, might be a failing modem, or router(if you have one)

Yes I have tried... I think it is a slightly more complex problem, but thanks.

hi,
download and install winsockxpfix from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Also if your IP and DNS is on DHCP change it to manually

by the way after doing all this restart your pc/laptop and see if it worked
