Although that is very good download/upload speeds, it doesn't compare to 54Mbps. You would have to have some type of fiber line directly to your house from an ISP to obtain that speed. 6Mbps down is much more than I'm getting. I'm in the same boat with kippaxian, I get around the same download/upload speeds:
Download Speed: 1224 kbps (153 KB/sec transfer rate)- (1.2Mbps)
Upload Speed: 210 kbps (26.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
I'm in a rural area, and DSL is my only option, and I have the highest grade of service that I can get here- max is 1.5Mbps download. Even if I could max it out, most servers are not going to allow you to download more than 500kbps anyway. So, I'm happy.
