Default Wireless Connection Problem

I have a little problem, I've a wireless network connnection, when I'm near from a wireless connection, it detects it, but the problem is that when I try to get connected with all the things I need such as IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS's, It doesnt work, I've tried it all...

What type of Wireless Router do you have?

Where specifically is this wireless connection? House, school, business? Some businesses or schools won't allow you to conenct to their wireless network because they purposely set it up that way to keep the network private.

Is a business network, but if its detected and I have all the things that may be needed, It should work, dont you think?.

Or you think that maybe they have proxy?
