Default Wireless connection dropping

A friend of mine has this problem:

My wireless internet periodically turns on and off. My signal strength says excellent and I'm using a Netgear router.

The internet is cable.

We've tried resetting all the components but nothing.

Any ideas?

Have you got your router high up and in the open, you don't want it hidden away as that might interfere with the signal, you could try going to the router makers website and download the latest firmware.

It could be your wireless card too... have you tried connecting to any other networks to see if you get dropped from them?

and maybe also try changing the channel of the router, as it may be interfering with other networks or even phones and stuff around your house
