Default what is a router switch?

what is a switch? i am looking for a way to monitor where all of my internet bandwidth is going. i can do a speed test and get speeds of 7mbps and then cant download worth a damn.

i have 5 computers hooked up on my home network and i would like a way to see what computer is using the internet bandwidth and how much each computer is using.

how do i do this? is it a switch?

Most likely what you have is a router that your computers communicates with. Depending on the router or firmware you have, you can check and see how much bandwidth is used and which computers are using the bandwidth.

To log into your router, go to and enter in your login information. If you do know it, it might be listed here.

As an example, I included a screenshot of mine.

Phone: Apple iPhone 5s 64gb (jailbroken)
