Default Using proxy servers in p2p applications.

Hey, I live on-campus at shippensburg. The Resnet network they put in place disallows p2p use. I would like to be able to use Bittorrent and I know I could get around the resnet settings but I've failed to find out how through google. If someone could shed some light on this topic it would be greatly appreciated, and I know this isn't anything complex, I'm not good with computers.
