ive got dsl prewired into my apartment along with a separate cox cable line. is it possible to run both of those connections on the same computer for faster internet access? ive got two NIC's obviously, one wireless and one wired, both would be running to one router. would i be able to forward the dsl lan ip to the cable lan ip or something and shotgun the connections? is this even possible? thanks.

Hhmm... in my own experience, I have DSL connection running at 256 kbps downstream and we also purchased a wireless internet for the laptop. When I connect my DSL to the laptop and connecting the wireless internet at the same time,it prioritize the wireless connection.

only possible if you can buy a 3,500$ router which supports multihomed BGP routing.

Its hard to get a residential internet line to get BGp routing to your ISP's router...

Datacenters use multihomed BGP routing, because they can have up to 10-30 bandwidth providers coming into one router sharing interweb out to 10,000 servers? :)

peace
