Will it improve my range and stregnth of wifi signals? Because my friend who lives on the street behind me has offered for me to use his intertnet, but I only get like 5-10% signal strength from it. If i buy this adapter will it make it stronger?

you'll probably need to get an additional access point i.e. another wireless router ... or bridge ... to bridge and strengthen your signal across distances.
