i just set up a wireless network at my brother's house, but it said unable to find a certificate??

Anybody have any ideas...

Hmm... how is your network configured? What encryption do you have set up (if any)?

An error like that probably means that there's some problem with the encryptions installed on your machine. Maybe your router is set up with a different type of encryption, one which you don't actually have installed?

Was this the exact message?

"Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you to the network"

Perhaps the "Enable 802.1x authentication for this network" checkbox needs to be cleared under that wireless network authentication tab.

yep it's happening now, saying validating identity but keeps coming back to the certificate

Did you check to make sure that the enable 802.1x authentication was cleared?

What encryption are you running? WEP, WPA-PSK ... WPA-Radius?

Typically if you are using certificates your using some corporate level security with RADIUS, LEAP or PEAP authentication. If you don't have a domain controller, you should not be using this kinda security, as RADIUS / LEAP / PEAP servers typically run on a domain controller.
