I have charter as my isp and a cisco modem and cisco asa 5505 security appliance. The internal address of my modem and firewall are in the 192 range. When I do a tracert command to my dns I immediately get a 10.xxx.xx.x range. I find this strange. I cannot ping it and my firewall is blocking certain instances from the address. My isp cant figure it out and keep telling me it is supposed to be that way. When I connect directly to the modem and access the modems interface via 192 address. When I tracert to any website from the modem the first address that pops up is the 10.xxx.xx.x How can this 10. address be coming from the modem when you access the interface via 192. Please help.

Wait, you mean you pinged it in the command prompt, am I right? You shuld get in the 192 range... I do...

What are you trying to do anyway though, btw?
