Slow Adsl Router

I got all the internet and connection sorted out on my dynamode adsl router but i have a bit of a problem when it comes to the internet, it connects and goes onto the web pages but occasionally it will disconnect, or not respond, then also when i got to use programs taht consist of connection the connection is always slow, in the 10kb range when i normally get 60kb i dont know what the hell to do, ive tried port forwarding .. dont know if i got that right, and most other stuff, has anyone got any pointers or advice for me? thanks alot x

do you have a firewall, could be the firewall or an infection by a virus , trojan ,spyware. if win 2000 or xp try connecting in safe mode, see if that goes away.
