Pretty sure in XP workgroup does not matter. At least I've never actually paid any attention to the name and I've never run into a problem.

Yeah, it does matter in XP, but not in Vista and W7, they'll see all the computers on the network regardless of workgroup names.

I have a good solution, not sure what you need it for but I use it for game saves incase I lose info:

It is really easy to use

And there's an Android app for Dropbox too so that expands the usefulness of it.
