hey guys,
i'm looking to upgrade my current wireless G router (linksys) to a wireless N. i have a 2TB external HDD that i would like to use as a NAS device. i'm thinking of getting a router that has a USB 2.0 port so that i can use the external drive as a NAS. but from what i've been reading, the access to the NAS in this type of setup isn't that fast (30-50 Mbps). i have 3 questions: 1) is there a wireless router that has better performance than this when accessing a USB attached drive? 2) is there another option given my current setup? 3) i would like to have torrents downloading directly to the external HDD without the need to have a computer on. are there any wireless routers that have a built in torrent client? |

1) That sounds like the avg speed for usb over ethernet.
2) There is custom firmware for various routers. Perhaps you could load it into your router and install a bittorrent client. 3) The Asus WL-700gE wireless router can use bittorrent.
