Roaming profiles

I've just built 6 Virtual Machines and am trying to use Roaming Profiles on them. It's actually been pretty successful less one extremely irritating little bug.
Whenever the roaming profile user logs off, they get a message "Windows cannot update your roaming profile. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists....."

It does save changes made to the desktop; appearance, and new docs saved, so that must be saved locally even though locally the user shows up as a "roaming" user... Those changes do not appear when I log them into a new machine. The profile prior to changes is there, though.

I have checked quota limits, security settings on the Server where the profiles are stored... several other little troubleshooting experiments.

VM's are running WinXP Pro, Files stored on 2003 SBS Exchange server

thanks for any help...!

You usually have to specify a path where you want the roaming profile data to be stored. 2003 is a little foggy for me, I run SBS 2008, and it's relatively easy to figure out. Usually just on the user's profile tab in Active Directory Users & Computers, then you right click on a user, and choose properties, then account tab. ADU&C is under Administrative Tools on the start menu / All Programs.

Hopefully you're just trying it out for the experience, roaming profiles can eat hard drive space like a fat kid in an ice cream shop.

yes, I have assigned the folder where the profiles are stored, and all the data is there... keep in mind, these profiles are converted from regular profiles... They are loading just fine from any machine: it looks like it is just having trouble saving certain settings changes...
