Resetting Pix 501

Hey guys forget my last array of questions lol.. THe last admin here did not leave a password for the Cisco Pix 501 Firewall. Now I am trying to do the password recovery procedure with teh console cable. I have he cable from my laptop going into the firewall. I dont know what else to do, i downloaded terminal emulation software but all i get is a password prompt and I do not get any startup messages when I power off then power on the firewall. Any suggestions would be thankful

Hmm. Sorry but I am not that familair with the Cisco Pix 501. Have you tried search the web?
