Default The requested URL / was not found on this server.

My browsers (both Chrome and IE) get this kind of message every now and then. This time, the actual url is Washington Post: Breaking News, World, US, DC News & Analysis, which I'm pretty sure exists.

Earlier today I turned the router off and then on, and the computer (Win7) was rebooted. Yet, this happens. On other sites, I get the same thing. Also, I cannot ping washingtonpost.com (request timed out).

Check your internet firewall settings just in case it is blocking sites.

Sounds more like a DNS hiccup. Happens on busy sites like CNN and other new sources that get MUCHO MUCHO traffic. Something you have to live with.
