Default Problems with my 2wire PC Port

I recently recieved a new laptop, and have it connected through a usb 2wire pc port to our home network, and thus, the internet. our network is run through our home phone lines and such. The problem is, every one and a while, the internet connection on my computer disconnects, and the only way to fix it is by restarting. This has become a hassle with online gaming and file sharing, and is getting quite annoying. This happened on my old computer using the same usb port, along with the same way to fix it. It eventually went away, but i was just wondering if theres an easier, more logical way to fix it. Thanks

When using internet, the USB port may become unstable. I'd suggest to use Ethernet cables
