Default Problem with sent/recieved packets

Hi,

I just recently started to have a problem with my network card.

It is a marvel Gigabyte card, and it is an integrated one. BUt the problem i have is that when i enable it, the usage stats are through the roof if i browse the net.

Packets Sent - 334,554 (normal)
Packets Recieved - 4,000,000+ (seems kind of high)
Connection Duration 7 minutes

I have other computers on my network, and they do not seem to have this problem. Also sometimes my internet will stop recieving packets but it will still be connected, and to get the internet working i have to either restart the computer, or disable then enable my network card.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to fix this or any idea on what could be wrong?

Thanks,
Kaashif

Have you run a virus scan at all on your computer? That is way too much incomeing for just normal internet activity.

You need to download *HIJACK THIS* and run it on your system. Also, run the log file on this site; http://www.hijackthis.de/ and give Process Explorer (very useful)& Root Kit Revealer <--scan your system with that application. www.sysinternals.com
