posessed proxy

okay
a couple of hours ago all 3 of my browsers (firefox, chrome, and IE) wouldnt connect
and said that i might of to set up a proxy server
and i never set one up
so i went into FF settings and noticed that it wasnt set to automatic
so i changed it and voila!
im back on
but only in FF
is there any way that i can make 1 change somewhere and restore it on all of them
and its not only effecting my browsers
it wont allow digsby to connect
or any other IM clients
any suggestions?
ive all ready checked my firewall and it says nothing about the blocked programs
or that i could read at least
fyi im running Vista 64-bit home premium

Open Internet Explorer. Keep in mind that this will change the Proxy internet settings for all browsers. Click "Tools", then "Internet Options". Click the "Connections" tab at the top. Select "LAN Settings". Uncheck the box that says "Use a Proxy Server for your LAN", and if "Automatically Detect Settings" is not checked, check that too. Click "OK" and close these windows. Try to see if the internet works. If it does not, follow the same procedure as indicated above, but do not check the box that says "Automatically Detect Settings".
