New D-Link Xtreme N Router Problems w/ Security

Hello,
So I install the router normally, but whenever I change something on the router, it doesnt let me connect to the internet anymore, so right now I have unencrypted internet......
How do I get this activated on this machine? every time I try it doesnt let me connect anymore. I dont even see a place to put a password.
Tried WPA-2 a few mins ago, went to reconnect and vista told me the requirements of the router were different than on this machine and wouldnt even let me change the status of my adapter for some damn reason....

How do I add security and connect back to the router,
Belkin was basic why this confuse me?

Your wireless card probably doesn't support WPA-2. It may only support WEP.

What is the model of your wireless card.

Trendnet USB Wireless N adapter, I used wep2 on my belkin router.

ok I found out the problem, I had to set my adapter to WPA2-Personal AFTER I input my own phrase and I put it to AES only, doh !!! I feel silly.
