Exclamation Networking problems

I can't get my 2 computers to see one another in the network. I have a laptop and a desktop both running winxp. Can someone tell me what to do to get them to see one another on the network? Thanks

9 times out of 10 the problem is that their is a firewall causing a conflict, usually one that came with an ISP's software or an anti-virus program that is causing this. Also make sure windows firewall is turned off (Or setup to allow file sharing).
