I am running a 1TB hard drive as a "server" as our original server went down. There are 5 computers on the network and I keep getting an error that says "No more connections can be made to this remote computer......". It was working fine until 2 days ago. Any help to solve this would be appreciated. All computers are windows xp professional and 1 vista laptop.

listen, go to Explorer and from the menu select "tools" and then "internet options", click on the tab "connection" and see if there is anything changed (compare with the internet connection details you got from the internet provider through your modem

check your DNS and DHCP settings.
or you might have used up the maximum amount of concurrent connections your license allows.

Sorry, there was an error on the original post.
We are sharing the files from our server from one computer running windows xp pro. There are a total of 5 computers including the one with the shared folder. No settings changed and that computer is a stand alone computer (no one uses it). |
