First off what are you trying to login to, a file share?

lol, your son might have set it to where it asks your for your password..
if you go tto
Control Panel>User Accounts>
it will say "or pick a panel control" at the bottom.
>click user accounts again.>Change the way users log on and off>
and it will ahve some choices... read them.

Your going to have to do this when your son is loged on though... I guess.

when i go into my network places then show workgroups have have three computers attached to the network. i can enter 2 of the computers on the network but not my sons and he has set no passwords of any kind.it just comes up with the box for the user name and password in the user name is the name of his pc and its greyed out so i cannot type anything in at all just in the password section.
