I work at a place and if I have a cat 5 network cable I can plug my laptop into any jack here and get on the internet? Is that good shouldnt I have to get access to the domain before getting on the internet?
What can be done to make this better security? Thanks in advance |

You can be fired if they don't have a provision for this. You need to check with IT before you connect a non-domain PC to the network, especially a personal system.
We have provisions where I work if you want to plug your personal laptop into the network, but we have end to end security, so our network is pretty good at catching outside threats and then denying access to those affected systems. |
