Default Log in to a forum can there still note your ISP?

Hi

I have a gerenal enquire:

Can forums still see your ISP if you log in, but not post anything? I know there will see you ISP when you first create the account,

Someone said you can log in to a forum and view the posts and the forum can not see the ISP, I believe that is incorrect? as im sure all forums can view everyone isp address even if there are visitors. My mate thinks other wise, im sure he is wrong.

Cheers

It's possible yes. Typically speaking moderators can only view the IPs of people who post and their registration IP, but the server itself keeps a log of all traffic, even if you only browse as a "guest".
