I have a very strange problem involving my notebooks and my newly purchased supposedly "pass through" port replicators/docking stations.
If I plug my network cable into the back of my notebook, all is well.
However, if I plug my cable into the back of my port replicator, then I get an IP error, saying that I have limited access due to an multiple PCs having the same IP.
If these port replicators are truly pass through... how can this happen? I can see the notebook, via the PR(port replicator), talking to the router so I know they see each other. BUT, why/how is my PR somehow messing up my routers ability to assign a good IP?
The notebook is a Compaq N610C and the PR is the HP PR1001.
Anyone have any ideas...?
Thanks!
