Invalid IP Error on laptop

Hi guys I need some help drastically, my wife has been sent a loan laptop and I input my encryption key in and the laptop connects to my network (WEP) full strength, but it is giving me little or no connectivity, so I click repair and it says
that there is a INVALID IP ADDRESS , I can get online if I connect the lan cable to it but cant get passed this stupid error when connected wireless so can someone help me out please.

This problem is now solved, It turned out that the laptop wasn't being allocated an IP address because of the 64 WEP encryption, a common fault apparently(not to me) anyway a Remtek engineer told me to change to 128 WEP encryption and it worked first time, so if any other person comes across this scenario then thats what you need to do.
