Internet problems

I have the Linksux 2.4 GHz wireless B adapter for my pc and a standard DSL Westell Modem and 2.4 GHz D-Link router.

AND IT SUCKS!!

Ok, so heres the deal, the internet itself isn't the worst, its slow, (dl'ing and up'ing takes FOREVER) but all in all it 'works' Though, I am big gamer, namely Counter-Strike 1.6 and I have the worst connection with it, I can rarely connect to the steam client and when I enter a server, my ping is always below 70 but I lag spike every few seconds. For some reason my wireless feed keeps getting interrupted.

Interferance with your connection ... are you in wireless hotspots where people can take your bandwidth ?

I did just move to a neighborhood, but I've had this problem for a while and I had moved from a countryside area where that wouldn't happen.
