I have external HD just like this one !

I wnat to connect it directly to my router so that I can keep its contents accessed by all my local area network users!

note that the router has a port like this : http://library.webster.edu/pcguide/i...ernet_port.jpg

You dont need to connect it to the router!
If you have a network setup, then you can share the drive!

we share our folders with each other, and we can access each one's PC, it's OK.

now the new alien that need to be connected to the network is the external HD, how can we join it to the network? Is it possible? Is there some kind of connector to do so?

You need a HD enclosure with NAS built in, or a cheap NAS unit. This will allow everyone on the network to see whats on the hard drive, and you don't need to keep a computer on to share everything.

I looked at this before and it's fairly inexpensive and does what you want
