Hey all,

I changed my router and modem's default DNS (ISP DNS)* to Google's dns (8.8.8.8 pri, 8.8.4.4 sec) about 4 mos. ago and I've noticed a slight performance increase in the time it takes to load pages. Lately, my internet has been slowing to a halt (I have 15Mb/s service) and after running speed checks on Comcast's site, resetting both the modem and router, pages were loading slowly. I figured changing the DNS settings back to their default values would fix the problem...it did!!! Why is Google's DNS being so slow (for me) all of the sudden? For a little background info, I know Comcast throttles download speeds for different things, but I visit Flash-intensive sites and download quite a bit and haven't experienced a problem.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

*I realized (later on) I only needed to change the DNS settings in the router, not the modem. But even leaving the default DNS set in the modem and using Google's DNS in the router, it still is slow too.
