Getting host out of (local) IP

Hi.

I have NetBSD installed and I have a problem resolving hostname from the local (static) IP.

gethostbyaddr(192.168.10.50) - which is my local IP - doesn't resolve it!
If someone does a lookup to my IP. it doesn't return the hostname.
Everything else works fine.
I have a hostname set, and a domain.
Now, where did I get wrong?

is this an intranet site or is this supposed to be seen on the internet?

If you just registered your domain it can take a few days for DNS propigation to take place.
