Which Is Faster? Windows Copy or FTP?

Hi All!!!

I have a new NAS drive that I mapped to a Windows drive (K and shared a folder. So I can use Windows Explorer to view/copy/delete/etc. files on the NAS.

The NAS also comes with an FTP server.

I want to backup my primary hard drive to this NAS and I was wondering, which protocol would be faster: regular Windows copy or FTP?

Perhaps there is another even faster program/protocol that you can suggest?

According to me, FTP is a fast and best.

In my opinion, I would just try both methods and see which is faster. It is going to depend on too many vairables to know for sure without just testing them.
