Question Dsl & wifi slow & hit & miss - Linksys -

So for ever, I have had a problem getting a good wifi going. I am using the Linksys WRT54GS Speedbooster with added 7dbi Linksys high gain antennas. The modem is New simmions speedstream 4100 B. Also flashed the router with the current firmware. This is at&t yahoo dsl.

When I search for signals, It comes in strong, but sometimes it does not connect. When I connect it usually is slow and does not work that great.

What could be the problem??

One of the antennas could be garbage.
