Dial Up Questions

A day or two ago, I was backing up my site (on a 56k connection) and the download was going at like 260kb a second. How was that possible? I got to like 1mb completed in 5 seconds. How did it happen, and how can I make it happen again?

well weird stuff sometimes happens, they were probably doing some maintenance or something... happened with my friends cable connection once, they were doing some maintenance and then suddenly he was downloading stuff like 5x faster than he should be able to. He managed to dl a movie (that's about 700mb) in under 15 mins.

I don't think there is anything u can do to make it happen again.

yea i got 4mb or so dwnload speed on a 2mb connection once. a 17mb file downloaded in seconds. it wont happen again though. it was just a super fast connection.

yea. I got cable connection and my downloads are 500kb/s and more?

But Im on 56k dialup lol. My download speed is usually about 5kb a second, and that magical time was about 260 kb a second.
