actually I have rolled sp2 into all my windows xp install cds now. its just a safer first install becouse you dont have to worry about blaster or all that crap when you are trying to get drivers. plus SP2 is only a problem if you try to upgrade a windows to it much like the whole upgrading a window 98 to a windows 98se.

sp2 does seem to be nice. if it is done right there doesn't seem to be any problems with it.

Believe it or not i have NO windows updates done except the IE6 ones... I have sp2 installed and NO problems

you can get remote desktop on XP home, the setup files are buried deep in the sytem files. if im thinking of the right thing, lol
