Default cable length

A couple of my friends and I are gunna have some small lan party at my house. My question is, will I see a big difference in performance and internet speed if the cable is 50ft long? If so, how significant will this be? Thanks in advanced!

Erm; what speed is the Network? 10Mbps or 100Mbps?

I think it may at 10, maybe not so much at 100. But you're only playing a game so I can't imagine that much to notice, with a game that will work even on the internet, however much the speed goes down over 50ft.
