Default Badgerman Workgroup

I have a workgroup on my computer that I didn't know was there 'till today. It's called 'Badgerman'. Has anyone heard of it?

Do you have WI-FI or more than one computer on a network?

Sounds to me as if some one out side is using the WI-FI side of yor network for their own uses! You need to put WEP on the WIFI NOW!!!

This person is stealing your bandwidth and also can probably access your computer/s remotely.

WEP does not work well at all, FBI cracked it in 3 minutes. Throw some mac address filtering on your network...thats your best defense on the average router....although I can get around that too.

Wep does work well, with the correct tools (easy available under linux) you can crack it in under three minutes if there is a lot of traffic over the AP, however how many people do you know who sit outside someones house with a recent linux version, working wireless cracking tools (airsnort) just to crack average joes AP?

not many.

For average joe, WEP 128 is fine
