and if there is a half decent server when i go on it ill have 999 ping

there are not programes running like kazaa nor is auto update on,
the ntl line is split between 3 of us via a router, but all of can surf the web with no problems

Cal of Duty is likely to have many people on it; and its always going to take a little while to load up the users. High Ping can be caused by many other people having Dial-up; as they take longer to recieve what you're sending out. I can't think it would be your computer if its working ok on most other things.

What is your bandwidth?

DLS? Whats that? Is it just normal 576Kbps Broadband?

I have no idea what it could be - I don't think it would be anything to do with the connection settings.

Ah, cool.

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong with it?! Maybe you could just call up the Provider and ask them?
