I snapped the y key off on my laptop by accident including the metal connectors so i cant just replace the key, unless somebody knows if its possible to glue something directly to a keyboard?

I can use it if i press it super hard but would like to make some kind of keyboard shortcut to make the letter, something like shift & other letter or CTRL + other letter in order to make the letter 'y'

It takes me about 5 seconds every time i want to type it anyway

that last sentence killed me. Any help would be much appreciated :D

I doubt gluing it would work. You have a really 2 options here. Buy a USB (or PS2 if the laptop supports it) keyboard and use that, or go the the manufacturer and buy a new keyboard that is made for it.

get auto hotkey. that works well, and you could program what every you want to be the y key. or you could just keep a file on your desktop with a y in it, and paste the y whenever you need it.
