Default XUbuntu on my system

I want to do a lot of DVD playback, and online streaming.

Pentium III 667mhz
256MB RAM
20GB Hard drive

there is a version of sopcast (online streaming video program, streams channels for cricket and soccer globally) for Ubuntu which should be compatible, its just a question of whether itll run smooth or not.
youtube should work properly, right?

oh, and is 720p playback of any type of video out of the question?

basically I want to turn my old PC into an XUbuntu-based HTPC

You'll want hardware mpeg decoding for DVD's, than that PC should be able to play them back. No problem with youtube either.

Did you add ram to that because that seems like a lot for something with a P3

Eh well i guess im not going to complain becasue i got mine for free.

Only thing is i think the network card in it is dead, and it would be hard to replace it becasue its a small case and looks really crammed.
