Don't get i7. If you will read my post above you will understand why. This machine will be used for gaming only. There's no advantage in buying the i7 other than the fact that it is future technology. G. Skill is a very reputable brand.
Even though it seems like the 2 core is a better match for games, this will not be true.
The lower clock speed of the I7 won't really matter, since the archetecture is all new, and so, it'll probably perform better than the E series at lower clocks,
Plus, games will start to use quad cores, etc, and some already do. With a budget of 2k, your best off going for new parts that'll last a while.
