XP Problem

I have a Sony laptop with windows XP Sp 1 & 2 on it. My webbrowser was highjacked and ever since when I right click my mouse on the desktop then hit properties the hour glass comes up but then just stops and the system will not bring up the XP appearance window.


Also when you go to start, control panel, appearance and themes, then
try and click on one of the four options such as chnage the computer
themes the system will not proceed at this window and will not bring
up the appaerance window etc.

Any thought would be helpful.

Now do you have windows SP1 and SP2 installed or have you upgraded your SP1 to SP2? if you did upgrade the files amy not have bin installed right. The only thing i can think of would be to reinstall windows.

Install Sp1 and/or SP2. Then reinstall, if you want a disk with XP2 (Latest Version on) go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

But don't uninstall SP2 untill the disk arrives!
