x800gt vs 6800gt

I'd go with the 6800gt actually. The pixel number's double on the 6800gt as opposed to the x800. The core clock is a little faster on the x800 though, so I'd still have to say the 6800gt. The memory clock is faster on the 6800gt. Go with the 6800gt for performance. But, you know what, you're really not going to notice that much, so maybe the x800 if you're tight on money, which a lot of people are nowadays (gas cost, etc.) so yeah. The x800 for bang-for-your-buck or the 6800gt for performance. Yeah.

I've tried the 6800GT and the X800.

I preferred the 6800GT, but to be fair I was testing the X800 on a 19" LCD, so the picture quality won't have been at its best.

I tried BF2 - the X800 managed 100FPS easily, whereas the 6800GT managed about 85-90, with some stutter with all the fancy options turned on when you fired a big gun e.g. tank.

I've always preferred nVidia though, but each and to his own.

x800xt I'd say. Just performance wise and bang for your buck sorta thing.

oops the x800xt is kinda out of my budget range. So how would a x800pro pci-e compare to a 6600gt pci-e?

The 6800 GT beats the X800GT easily. The X800GT is supposed to be competition for the 6600 line (but the 6600 GT still beats it in most benchmarks).
